It is a river that is formed by two streams – Vydra and Křemelná. In the place where the river is born our great composer B. Smetana created the melody of the symphonic poem Vltava (our national river that is partly formed by the river Otava).

There is a nice legend about a water fairy that helped people. She gave pearls to the poor people and everyone who needed it.
