Ostrý Mountain

Ostrý Mountain (German Osser) is a mountain in the area of the Royal Deep Forest, the tops of which lie in Bavaria near the Czech-German border. It is a marked double top consisting of Big Ostrý at the border (1,293 m) and Little Ostrý (1,266 m) lying to the west. This double top was the inspiration for the local name the Breast of God´s Mother. The top rock is situated on the German side about 10-15 metres behind the border. We cannot forget to mention that the water-shed between the Řezná and Úhlava Rivers as well as the main European water- shed between the North and Black Seas go over the Ostrý Mountain.
