Lake Prášily

One of the five Šumava lakes of glacier origin is situated about 5 km from the village of Prášily, 1080 m above sea level. It extends on 3.75 ha, the maximal depth being 14.9 m above sea level. There is a 150 m high rock above the lake. The wonderful scenery is created by rocky cribs and stony seas. In the past the water from the lake was used to wood rafting and therefore its dam was artificially raised.
You can reach the village of Prášily by car, by bike or to use the Ecological buses, which also transport bikes during the summer holidays.
